BLIS Workshops are open to all Bethel staff, substitute teachers and student teachers. Certified staff will receive the district credits and PDUs listed in the seminar description. 1965 - SIOP Training for Middle School Teachers Day 1: This training provides teachers with strategies and techniques for supporting emerging bilinguals in the core content classrooms. This training can help teachers identify ways in which English academic language can be a barrier to student learning and how to infuse a variety of techniques into instruction that make content more comprehensible. The practices will benefit both English speakers as well as English learners because of the strong focus on increased student engagement and building academic vocabulary and language. It will include field work so teachers can practice techniques between classes. Day 1 focuses on Academic Language and Lesson Preparation.

1964 - SKETCHNOTING IN THE CLASSROOM (Virtual): Sketchnoting, or visual note-taking, combines words and images to record information you are hearing, reading or remembering. Sketchnoting is a great way for students and teachers to increase recall and understanding of information. This class will give you the basics as well as terrific resources to learn more about personal use of sketchnoting and how to help students learn and use this valuable skill. Once your register, you will be invited to the Google Classroom class.

1888 - JUST GOOGLE FORMS INDEPENDENT STUDY: Google Forms is a great way to collect information from colleagues, students, parents and community members. With Google Forms you can easily create an online survey or test and then either send your audience a link, post a link online or post the form in your WordPress site.

1864 - GOOGLE CLASSROOM VIRTUAL CLASS: Welcome to the Google Classroom Independent Study Hour. Spend an hour with these resources to get 1 PDU and 0.1 District Credit. If you were awarded a Chromebook cart, the hour also counts toward your 10 hours of iPad training to which you committed.

Google Classroom is a blended learning platform for schools that aim to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way. Google Classroom can be a time saver and an exciting way to engage students in technology even if your students only have one hour a week in the lab.
