1978 - ANIMATION IN THE CLASSROOM: Integrating art into the curriculum can sometimes be a challenge especially if you don’t feel like you can teach art. Animation is an easy way to engage student with fun-filled activities that take no particular artistic skill using materials you already have in the classroom. Each participant will learn how to create thaumatropes, flip-its, flipbooks, zoetropes strips and even animated movies using a smartphone or iPad. We’ll also help you build your own zoetrope viewer and discover curriculum connections for animation.

1985 - VISUAL NOTETAKING: Visual notetaking is a process of representing ideas non-linguistically. Visual notetaking can include concept mapping, but also more artistic ways of visually capturing and representing ideas. Sometimes called sketchnoting, visual note-taking can make a dramatic improvement in student retention of information.

1987 - CHROMEBOOKS IN THE CLASSROOM (9-12): Chromebooks are quickly becoming the default computers in Bethel schools and for good reasons. A cart of Chromebooks can be rolled into your classroom and easily integrated into your instruction. Chromebooks give you access to Internet resources; but, more importantly, they allow your students to seamlessly interact with their Bethel Google accounts. This class will show you how to manage the Chromebooks and give you suggestions on how to integrate their use into instruction.
