BLIS Workshops are open to all Bethel staff, substitute teachers and student teachers unless otherwised noted in the workshop's description. Certified staff will receive the district credits and PDUs listed in the seminar description. You must know your DataPort password to register. Don't know? Email Tim Goss. 2101 - STAFF CPR AND FIRST AID TRAINING (FULL): Staff CPR and First Aid Training is now mostly online with a 1 hour in-class time. This course combines online training of concepts and knowledge with a face to face skills session in which you do hands-on practice in front of an Instructor. Once enrolled in a class, you will be sent a link to begin the online training class. You must complete your online training prior to your scheduled hands-on practice session.

2103 - KAHOOT! (K-12): Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform that is free for schools. Choose from hundreds of pre-built quizzes or create your own quiz. Kahoot! is awesome with students in teams of 2 to 5 using 5-15 Chromebooks, but the games can be played with iPads or desktop computers as well. This class, in less than an hour, will make you an expert at setting up and running games/quizzes with students. Kids in grades K to 12 love it! Kahoot! - https://kahoot.com/

2078 - ROUND 3 SIOP TRAINING: This training is designed for any secondary teacher who has not participated in SIOP training in the past.

Day 1 (Tuesday, March 19): (full day) Learn what SIOP is and how it can help students who are learning English. You will leave this training with many easy to prep activities that you can use with all of your students in all content areas.

Day 2 (Tuesday, April 16): (1/2 day) Reflect on your implementation of SIOP strategies so far, plan for future lessons, and learn a more effective ways to help students who are learning English.

1/2 hr lunch break - bring your own lunch.

2095 - Round 2: Number Talks: Teachers who have not been trained in Number Talks are invited to participate in this math professional development opportunity. Number Talks are five- to fifteen-minute classroom conversations around purposefully crafted problems that are solved mentally. It supports teachers in understanding how to follow students' thinking and how to pose the right questions to build understanding. It supports students in mental calculation, reasoning, communication and number sense. Limited to 30 participants.

2096 - INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY INDEPENDENT STUDY: This online, independent study class allows you to choose from a list of activities to extend and improve your instructional technology skills using Bethel Google Suite. The focus is specificially on Google Classroom, Google Forms and Google Slides. Complete up to four hours of independent study and receive 4 PDUs and 0.4 district credits.

1888 - JUST GOOGLE FORMS INDEPENDENT STUDY: Google Forms is a great way to collect information from colleagues, students, parents and community members. With Google Forms you can easily create an online survey or test and then either send your audience a link, post a link online or post the form in your WordPress site. Spend an hour with these resources to get 1 PDU and 0.1 District Credit. And don’t forget to Register Now so we can add your PDU and 0.1 District Credit once you’ve turned in your Exit Ticket at the bottom of the online class.

1864 - GOOGLE CLASSROOM VIRTUAL CLASS: Welcome to the Google Classroom Independent Study Hour. Spend an hour with these resources to get 1 PDU and 0.1 District Credit. Google Classroom is a blended learning platform for schools that aim to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way. Google Classroom can be a time saver and an exciting way to engage students in technology even if your students only have one hour a week in the lab.
